10.00 (excellent) Oh, my goodness... this series is just hilarious. The comedy and timing are perfect! Laughing so much in every chapter. ^_^ Yotsuba has so many experiences and is full of energy all the time. Highly recommend this series.

"If there are times that your hands turn blue, then there are times they turn red." - Scruffy
"They don't turn red!" - Yotsuba
"No?!" - Scruffy

"No Lunch today" - Mr. Koiwai (Yotsuba's dad)
"What?!" - Yotsuba
"Dad! Dad!" - Yotsuba
"The backwards game, remember..." - Mr. Koiwai (Yotsuba's dad)
"Lunch... you mean no dinner either?!" - Yotsuba

9.75 (excellent) Just marvelous... from the little smoke/charcoal monsters that help Kamajii to Haku to Yubaba and her sister... just a really enjoyable movie that keeps you entertained and brings you into their world, for a short time. : )

9.50 (excellent) Loved Akira and so... went to pick this up (Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo is part of the production team). A wonderful tale of how Kenichi tries to save Tima and all the mishaps they go through.

My Neighbor Totoro

9.50 (excellent) Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli have been reliable for delivering great pieces of art (thank you so much). This was a real treat to watch. It brings to mind aspects of different children's stories, such as Alive in Wonderland. The Catbus is fantastic and so fun. :)))

9.25 (very good) Ironically, I accidentally saw part of this (Kaneda on his bike and racing on the street/highway) when I was 6 years old or so... but could not remember what it was for a lot of years. Finally when it came out on DVD, there was Kaneda on his bike covering the DVD case. It was like bridging a gap. This has so much depth to it and interesting technology at certain points. Purely a classic.

9.25 (very good) This is just a fun series to watch for comedy and... those eyebrows. O.o

lol, what nonsense and mayhem transpires in this... could only be Furi Kuri

The music is also fantastic. Pillows \m/

One Piece

Last Updated: Dec 08, 2014

9.25 (very good) Have read all of the One Piece manga and only watched a few of the films (Strong World, Z and a few others). The manga is in a class all of its own. The story and characters all develop nicely. We get to see such a large variety of the different places of the world, which are tied in and mentioned later on (not just forgotten). There is a rich history of characters and events to draw from that continue to evolve as the manga progresses. More prequel/history of the manga (such as Whitebeard, Gol D. Roger, Shiki the Golden Lion and others in their younger days) would be fun to see.

9.25 (very good) A very intriguing and thought provoking movie. Going over reality and dreams as well as how to help people with trauma or issues, this film provides a very unique way of depicting many themes and some of those are rather subtle. Fantastic art and music! : )

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

9.25 (very good) This Gundam OVA ticks all the boxes. It has great mobile suits, compelling characters, and a well flushed out story. For six episodes (six hours) of content, they did a marvelous job with this series (and looking forward to the next episode). Highly recommend.

9.00 (very good) Innovating and game changing is how this felt when I first saw the movie. Some years later, Stand Alone Complex would come out and continue the storytelling of these characters and universe. The movie isn't quite like the series that are out, but the series can also further develop aspects that the movie cannot.

9.00 (very good) It is too sad that the manga was canceled. : ( Anyhow, the DVDs of this are a real eye opener on society and how mankind is harming the planet. There are those that love and protect the planet, then there are those that serve their own self interests.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing

Last Updated: Mar 09, 2014

9.00 (very good) Treize Khushrenada and Zechs Marquis provide an interesting comparison to the five gundam pilots. They help the viewer wonder which is the right side in the conflict or are neither of the sides right? (by resorting to violence)

Rurouni Kenshin

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Oct 20, 2013

9.00 (very good) Hiko Seijuro XIII, Hajime Saito and Aoshi Shinomori really make this series for me. Kenshin is funny and a good fighter at the snap of a finger, but it is really the supporting characters that make this an anime worth watching.

9.00 (very good) Hoshi no Koe (Voices of a Distant Star in the US)
This short movie is wonderful. There is so much communicated between the characters and audience with such little dialogue and action. More movies like this wouldn't be a bad thing. ^_^

Outlaw Star

Last Updated: Mar 09, 2014

9.00 (very good) Gene Starwind and Jim Hawking have a great dynamic, which also lends to the comedic aspect of the series. Unexpectedly, it develops into a more dramatic/serious story as each episode goes by.

Hito Hitori Futari

Last Updated: Jun 08, 2014

9.00 (very good) An eye opener of a series. When first starting it, this seemed like a meh kind of manga; however, it really evolves and brings the reader in. How the Prime Minister changes and tries to do his best for Japan is inspiring. There are many challenges along the way and it makes you think of how we need to change our ways in real life. Highly recommended.

Dark Air

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Dec 20, 2013

9.00 (very good) Dark Air is an intriguing music-filled ride through a fantasy magic world. All sorts of characters spring up, which include: Ability enhancing musicians (guitar, viola and flute), Mages, Thieves, Singers and much more! The music references that are spread throughout bear a resemblance to Bastard!! (another manga that uses music band and artist references) This series was canceled and the full potential has not been witnessed; however, there is a lot of room for growth and the series has a solid foundation.

8.75 (very good) This is a series that you can watch again and again. Each sub-story/session has it's own kind of charm to it. More character history for Jett, Faye, and Spike would be nice, but there is enough in the anime to move it along.

Tenchi Muyo

8.75 (very good) Grew up with Tenchi Muyo... have watched it quite a few times. This was some of the best humor and sci-fi/fantasy situations all rolled up into one. Still would like my own Ryo-Ohki (meow! =^_^= )

8.50 (very good) This felt like such a different anime from others I had seen up to that point. To actually "be" in the virtual game world seemed so exciting and fun... what could possibly go wrong? Getting trapped in the world and not being able to wake up is quite a serious ordeal.

SAO takes this same idea and expands on it a bit.

Boogiepop Phantom

Seen: completely; Own: completely;

Last Updated: Oct 20, 2013

8.50 (very good) This series in a lot of ways felt like a slightly different version of Serial Experiments Lain, which isn't a bad thing. Boogiepop is presented sparingly, but at key moments in the series. Would like to read the manga behind it at some point.

Comic Party

Seen: completely; Own: completely;

Last Updated: Jun 08, 2014

8.50 (very good) This is an anime that surprises and delivers. It provides an interesting look into creating dojinshi and how to present it at Comiket. (hope to perhaps someday go to it) A lot of wild and zany things happen along the way, which is all in good fun and everyone is kept in check (so to speak). An enjoyable watch for a night in with someone who may not be as familiar with anime.

Wolf's Rain

8.50 (very good) Kiba's lone wolf attitude and willingness to see through the mission despite what might happen is portrayed really well. I need to rewatch this. >.>

Shadow Skill

Seen: completely; Own: completely;

Last Updated: Jun 08, 2014

8.50 (very good) This is a solid action/martial arts anime. Good fight scenes, comedy and story development. Elle is kind of aloof most of the time (unless it is in regards to fighting). Always wonder why there are not any prequels or sequels to this.

Ninja Scroll

Last Updated: Oct 20, 2013

8.50 (very good) This is one of the best ninja/fighting anime ever made. There have been so many that have tried to imitate it (and have had some degree of success), but none will ever be the same.

8.25 (good) This is a fun manga and anime. All of the music references and humor while telling an action/fantasy story get you laughing and thinking. : ) Would really like for the remainder of the manga to be translated to English. :(

Trigun

Last Updated: Oct 20, 2013

8.25 (good) Really liked this series up until it started to get way too serious at the end... then it just felt like a guy walking to a death sentence (and not fun to watch). The more aloof and fun Vash is the best.

Addicted to Curry

8.25 (good) A very unique twist and presentation to the shinigami and righteous hero characters. The series feels like it falls off after a particular character dies and it just limps along until it crosses the finish line.
