Have this on my list as something I've watched previously, but honestly don't remember watching it (though it looks familiar). O.o

5.25 (moderate) Watched this anime with a friend who was really excited about it. To me, it was nothing special. A guy dies and comes back as a zombie-ish character to get vengeance.

8.00 (good) This series had a good balance of action and comedy. More appearances by Bean Bandit would have been great. : )

8.00 (good) The first animated series was rather odd and had a very poor ending. Part of this was due to the fact it had been made while the manga was still being written, which isn't typically a good idea.

The manga is excellently written and flows really well. The history of characters and events is explained. There is also a nice tie-up of things at the end.

9.00 (very good) An eye opener of a series. When first starting it, this seemed like a meh kind of manga; however, it really evolves and brings the reader in. How the Prime Minister changes and tries to do his best for Japan is inspiring. There are many challenges along the way and it makes you think of how we need to change our ways in real life. Highly recommended.

9.00 (very good) Hoshi no Koe (Voices of a Distant Star in the US)
This short movie is wonderful. There is so much communicated between the characters and audience with such little dialogue and action. More movies like this wouldn't be a bad thing. ^_^

7.50 (good) This has a DBZ feel to it, but is so much better than that series. The characters feel more developed and the story arcs are more intriguing. The master roshi character is just as playful, but also appears more disciplined and respected. Interesting creative dynamics, such as Greed Island, playout and allow the characters and readers to explore this manga universe further. Hope more of this is made.

Inuyasha

Seen: partially

Last Updated: Jun 21, 2014

7.25 (above average) Think I've seen about 80% of the series... probably missed a few episodes here and there, but have seen most of it. Rather enjoyed Inuyasha: the locations, going back and forth between universes, different items, the various characters and their dynamics. The most interesting relationship is between Inuyasha and his half-brother, Sesshomaru. The most annoying thing is the overuse of the "Sit" joke. It got old after the 3rd episode (used too often for comedic effect).

6.50 (above average) A cute harem gender bender story revolving around a highschool boy that comes upon powers he didn't know he had. These powers are typically only found in females, but he is the exception. =b It would be nice to see the male lead a little more strong-willed at times (especially when the girls are trying to own him).

7.75 (good) Negima was a really good read. It was a little bit much with the final battles and such, but ah well. The ending was understandable, but sad. :( Really kept hoping he would have ended up with one of the other girls, but it is fated from the start. :/

9.50 (excellent) Loved Akira and so... went to pick this up (Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo is part of the production team). A wonderful tale of how Kenichi tries to save Tima and all the mishaps they go through.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Seen: partially

Last Updated: Apr 01, 2014

6.50 (above average) Louise bossing around Seiji constantly and self-proclaiming he is her boyfriend is annoying. She acts like a self-centered and spoiled girl. Christina Sierra is part of the support crew, but is incredibly scared of being in battle (maybe she was deluded in thinking they wouldn't be directly involved at any point). The large bust sizes of a lot of the female characters is also very disappointing. Lichtendahl Tsery missing a vital sensor alarm constantly going off while he sits in the main cockpit/command deck of the ship just seemed too stupid of a mistake.

Just too many annoying side characters/events to watch this all the way through (stopped at Ep. 10, Season 1). Nice development and take on the gundams though.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Mar 21, 2014

7.50 (good) This Gundam series felt like it was trying to do too much and over extended itself. It should have been one season and more condensed. Two seasons could have been told better and with more sharp character development. Side characters seem to just fill holes in the anime as opposed to being more thoroughly developed (given there is 2 seasons).

Would have rather had a 2nd season of Gundam Wing =b

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Mar 21, 2014

6.75 (above average) After having watched both seasons, this Gundam series felt like it dragged on for far too long. If the story was different, then perhaps it would have been more enjoyable for me. Really only watched the second season to see how it ended.

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

Last Updated: Jun 08, 2014

9.25 (very good) This Gundam OVA ticks all the boxes. It has great mobile suits, compelling characters, and a well flushed out story. For six episodes (six hours) of content, they did a marvelous job with this series (and looking forward to the next episode). Highly recommend.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing

9.00 (very good) Treize Khushrenada and Zechs Marquis provide an interesting comparison to the five gundam pilots. They help the viewer wonder which is the right side in the conflict or are neither of the sides right? (by resorting to violence)

9.50 (excellent) Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli have been reliable for delivering great pieces of art (thank you so much). This was a real treat to watch. It brings to mind aspects of different children's stories, such as Alive in Wonderland. The Catbus is fantastic and so fun. :)))

Seen: partially

Last Updated: Oct 20, 2013

7.75 (good) This just feels like a fun action/comedy manga that knows how to deliver. It combines a variety of fantasy elements without dwelling too much on what they all are. A certain level of basic knowledge is expected/assumed by the mangaka as you read. Really a worthwhile manga is you are looking for something to pick up. : )

Naruto

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Dec 21, 2013

7.00 (above average) There are some really great parts to this manga, such as when Naruto and Kakashi spend time at the ramen shop in the Hidden Leaf village or when Naruto is training in senjustsu with the Toads. Some parts feel a bit ridiculous or lengthy.

Last Updated: Oct 20, 2013

8.00 (good) NGE, End of Evangelion, Death and Rebirth of Evangelion, NGE: Angelic Days (manga)
There is just so much to NGE universe and it is very unique in a lot of ways. Shinji always seemed like too much of a wuss in the movies and original series. Rei was cute, but rather unemotional. Though her depiction in Angelic Days is a refreshing twist to her character. Asuka is head strong, but overconfident. Her and Masato are the favs from the movies and original series. : )

Night on the Galactic Railroad

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Dec 21, 2013

8.25 (good) The theme of the movie, "what is true happiness", really makes one think about life and the experiences we encounter. The idea of using cats for the main characters, when other people are portrayed as humans, seemed a bit off.

Ninja Scroll

One Piece

Last Updated: Dec 08, 2014

9.25 (very good) Have read all of the One Piece manga and only watched a few of the films (Strong World, Z and a few others). The manga is in a class all of its own. The story and characters all develop nicely. We get to see such a large variety of the different places of the world, which are tied in and mentioned later on (not just forgotten). There is a rich history of characters and events to draw from that continue to evolve as the manga progresses. More prequel/history of the manga (such as Whitebeard, Gol D. Roger, Shiki the Golden Lion and others in their younger days) would be fun to see.

Outlaw Star

9.00 (very good) Gene Starwind and Jim Hawking have a great dynamic, which also lends to the comedic aspect of the series. Unexpectedly, it develops into a more dramatic/serious story as each episode goes by.

9.25 (very good) A very intriguing and thought provoking movie. Going over reality and dreams as well as how to help people with trauma or issues, this film provides a very unique way of depicting many themes and some of those are rather subtle. Fantastic art and music! : )
